Morningside14

Forest orienteering event at J J Collett Natural Area,

near Morningside, Sunday May 4, 2014

UPDATES: [April 28] snow mostly melted already, prairie crocuses in bloom, wildlife seen include a moose and calf, two owls and a duck in the forest. Courses will go int the NW section thanks to a boardwalk upgrade from the Foundation.  There will be a common control – which will be a water stop – between the second outhouse and gazebo.
The organizers will be collecting donations for the JJ Collett Foundation who have provided the parking lot you will be leaving your vehicle in, the outhouse you might use, the fence round the whole area to stop you getting too lost and the benches and gazebos you might be tempted to rest at while on your course.
Weather forecast for the Morningside area, so you know what to wear/bring;  the event will be held rain or shine, but courses may be adapted if it’s very wet underfoot.
